Information about the Entrepreneur
Mr. Lam Thanh Kim is the 32-year-old CEO of M.O.I Cosmetics. Although being born and raised in the Western countryside enabled him to enjoy a peaceful childhood, he was faced with an uncertain future due to limited conditions. When he was a little boy, his biggest dream was to be able to become the owner of a local grocery store because that looked like the most prosperous place in his neighborhood.

When he was about 12 years old, a small supermarket had just opened where he lived, and he realized that he still could have his dream of owning a supermarket. At that time, he noticed that the world was much bigger than he imagined and he wanted to go further and expand his dream. He came to Ho Chi Minh City after completing 12th grade and started his first part-time job as an artist assistant during his first year in university. He later became a project manager for an entertainment company after 1 year.

After 4 years of working and learning, he officially founded his first event and production house company named “KIM Production”.

By 2017, he started to research the cosmetic market and realized that there was a huge potential market, but more than 90% of the market share belonged to international brands, and only 10% of the market share belonged to domestic brands, which means that most of the locals are paying for cosmetic products that are not specifically manufactured and researched for Vietnamese people. From there, he started building M.O.I Cosmetics with the dream of changing the domestic marketing share as a brand with Vietnamese pride in the international cosmetic market.

As part of its revenue milestones, M.O.I Cosmetics has reached a record of more than 30,000 lipsticks sold on the first day of launch and achieved more than VND 30 billion in revenue in the first year. In the second year, M.O.I Cosmetics recorded nearly 300% growth in revenue. Besides that, with the exception of 2021 (due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic), the company recorded a growth of 150% average in revenue per year.

In regards to its distribution milestones, M.O.I Cosmetics currently has more than 1000 distribution agents across the country; it also opened more than 95 stores distributed through partners such as Guardian, Medicare, Beauty Box, and many more. Concurrently, the official e-commerce stores at Lazada and Shopee have recorded steady revenue.

Mr. Lam Thanh Kim will lead M.O.I Cosmetics from being simply the first local professional makeup brand in Vietnam to become the leading beauty brand in Vietnam, transforming the market share ratio of domestic brands in Vietnam’s cosmetics industry. At the same time, it is his mission to inspire millions of Vietnamese women to love themselves more, helping them become more beautiful, confident, and self-reliant.

As part of Mr. Lam Thanh Kim’s future plans for the company, the company will expand the product category in the next 5 years and create an ecosystem according to each person's life cycle, taking care of them from birth to old age.
