Mr. Pham Viet Anh has 26 years of experience in management and leadership. Appointed as the senior manager at a young age, he soon became the Deputy Director of Petroleum Marine Service company (PTSC Marine) at the age of 28 and Director of PTSC Petroleum Exploitation Services company (PPS) when he was 31 years old. He took the role of Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) at 35 years old, General Director of PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) at 36 years old and General Director of PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PVGas) at 38 years old.
His contribution in over 10 years as the General Director of PVTrans has been crucial to the company’s success. He has led PVTrans from the edge of bankruptcy to become the number one shipping company in Vietnam. PVTrans’ average growth rate has skyrocketed in nine consecutive years by 17-20% per year. With all his years with PVTrans, Mr. Pham Viet Anh has a great contribution to leading PVTrans to become the No. 1 shipping company in Vietnam from one of the struggling enterprises in the Oil and Gas Group (PVN) on the verge of bankruptcy in 2011. Today, PVTrans’ brand is increasingly asserted in the international market. He has developed PVTrans into a non-stop growing enterprise with a diversified fleet of approximately one million deadweight tonnage (DWT), more than 2,000 employees and 11 subsidiaries/ affiliates. He has promoted investment, rejuvenated the fleet and expanded the market, leading to 80% of PVTrans’s fleet to have operated in the international market. He has decisively restructured the whole PVTrans, therefore, 9 subsidiaries and 2 affiliates have operated efficiently, actively in business since 2011 and have gradually affirmed their own reputation in the shipping market.
Despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and oil price decline in 2020, PVTrans’s revenue reached VND 7,730 billion, increasing by nearly 3 times, and its profit reached VND 1,039 billion, increasing by 17 times compared to the equitization in 2010.
