After the State Capital Investment Corporation divested its capital in 2016, Phan Tan Dat was faced with the huge challenge of taking over the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Binh Duong Minerals and Construction Joint Stock Company (BIMICO).
Before becoming a senior leader at BIMICO, Phan Tan Dat used to take key positions at Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint-Stock Bank, Vietnam Forestry Corporation - JSC and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DRH Holdings Joint Stock Company.
BIMICO's activities are characterised by mining and mineral processing and the production of building materials while businessman Phan Tan Dat is a financial man with no background in geology, minerals, and mining. Therefore, during the first stage, things were difficult for him and it took a lot of time for him to learn about the company's activities and understand the activities of each segment.

During the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the KSB Community Development Fund participated in supporting the province's localities in epidemic prevention and control such as supporting vaccine funds, organising at-the-market (ATM) programmes for medicine, oxygen, safety bags, medical equipment, etc.

As the top leader at BIMICO, Phan Tan Dat has always been creative in directing and operating production and business with short-cut measures to take the lead in investment and focus; technical improvement; technological innovation; making full use of the invested machinery, equipment capacity and the creative capacity of engineers; creating new products that change the appearance of the company. As a result, the annual revenue always exceeds the set plan, ensuring good jobs, stable income for employees, and ensuring the efficiency of shareholders' investment in the business.
To achieve these results, in addition to investing in modern machinery and equipment and applying advanced mining technology, Phan Tan Dat has focused on training human resources, appointing managers of middle and senior level to participate in modern management classes, skills training classes, foreign languages, and regularly opening short-term training classes to improve skills of direct workers. The company also started to apply new management thinking, avoiding bureaucracy by promoting the application of technology in management and administration. In the past, all decisions had to be printed, handwritten and submitted to many levels of leadership, which was a time-consuming process. Now, everything is put on the internal system through specialised software, gradually digitising the processes.
