Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) owns one of the oldest beer brands, Bia Saigon and Bia 333, in Vietnam which 146 years of development have paralleled the changes of the nation and its people. Bia Saigon and Bia 333 are household names with deep local heritage and loved by Vietnamese people throughout generations. Through these brands, the company has evolved relentlessly with Vietnam along with its economic development locally and internationally. Ever since SABECO became a company with foreign investment in 2018, SABECO has implemented a comprehensive investment strategy and initiatives with a view of strengthening its position as the leading domestic brewer and gradually improving its global competitiveness to become in line with the country’s development.

SABECO’s vision is to develop the brand to become the leading beverage group in Vietnam, having a firm foothold in regional and international markets. Its mission includes developing Vietnam’s beverage industry to keep pace with the world; promoting the Vietnamese culinary culture; improving the quality of life by providing high-quality, safe and healthy beverages; delivering practical benefits to shareholders, customers, partners, employees, and society; satisfying and meeting the needs of beverages under the international food safety standards; fulfilling its obligation to the State on the basis of transparency in business; actively participating in community activities; and ensuring development towards international integration.

Company Culture & Company Activities
SABECO's corporate activities are developed based on the 4Cs commitments, which are Country – Consumption – Conservation – Culture.

SABECO’s commitment to the country can be seen in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities which support the rising spirit of Vietnam, contributing to the overall development and prosperity of Vietnam. SABECO has successfully organised many CSR programmes to support needy Vietnamese workers and flood victims such as Coming Home for Tet, CSR- Covid-19, Disaster Relief, Rise with Vietnam, and Tet Gan Ket.

SABECO’s commitment to culture is shown in its support of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnam through events and activities such as Saigon Night (Mobile Dem Saigon) 333 and Monsson Music Festival 2019, Ooc-om-boc Festival. Recently, SABECO has agreed on a deal to sponsor the Vietnam national football team for one year.

SABECO’s commitment to conservation involves its emphasis on cutting costs and reducing water and energy consumption in business operation through the use of green energy, installation of wastewater treatment as well as sustainable packaging production.

Lastly, SABECO’s commitment to consumption lies in its cooperation with government authorities and relevant partners to raise customer awareness for responsible drinking. In detail, SABECO collaborates with the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA) on Draft Law on preventing and fighting against the negative effects of alcohol. SABECO also won top prizes at the International Boxing Association (AIBA) in 2019 and 2021.

Achievements & Impact
As of December 31, 2020, SABECO has 26 subsidiaries with over 50% of ownership, 18 associates and joint ventures, 10 trading subsidiaries and has a distribution network consisting of 100,000 retailers nationwide. SABECO currently has 8,388 employees, gaining 144 new employees in 2020.

To achieve sustainable growth, SABECO's foremost strategies are highly focused on developing a green, clean and energy-saving system and utilising environmentally friendly sources; investing in human capital, local communities, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Vietnam as a whole; and managing the business effectively and strengthen the Corporation's competitive advantages to meet stakeholders’ needs.

Future Direction
As part of SABECO’s long term commitment to create a positive socio-economic impact on Vietnam and its people, SABECO has embedded its own sustainable development strategy comprising 4 primary objectives (4C) (Country – Culture – Conservative – Consumption).
