Established in 2009, YOLA is proud to be the pioneer of English language programs that provide future skills and academic preparedness for students through lessons conducted by a combination of traditional teaching methods and superior online platform for all ages. YOLA’s Vision 2025 incorporates two parts. Part A, YOLA creates a world where everyone is empowered to unlock their full potential and part B, YOLA enrolls 500,000 students and reaches 2 million people through education by providing excellent customer experience and employee satisfaction and by adhering to its core values.

YOLA upholds 5 core values that are practiced by all employees nationwide, honour their words, authentic and responsible, work wholeheartedly, open and honest in communication and a say “yes” attitude to challenges.

YOLA has a flat organisational structure where the CEO encourages open, honest and direct communications among employees. This creates a unique culture in the workplace where everyone is willing to take risks and collaborate towards a common goal. To develop its employees, YOLA organizes workshops that help employees grow in their current position and acquire necessary skills to be successful in their roles. YOLA also cultivates the seeds of kindness in its employees with annual events such as “YOLA Run for Charity”, “Bring clean water to rural areas” and “YOLA Green” to give back to the community.

Company’s Brand Story
YOLA was founded in 2009 by three graduates from top universities in the US, Pham Anh Khoa (Bates College), Ngo Thuy Ngoc Tu (Stanford University) and Phan Duy (Dickinson College) with the ambition to transform Vietnamese students through education.

YOLA is an acronym for Your Online Learning Assistant and its mission is to be the education companion of students in their journey of improving their language skills and providing opportunities for them to experience world standard learning. YOLA started as a trusted education partner for students to prepare them with the required language skills for the IELTS, TOEFL and SAT examinations. Today, YOLA has developed into a full range English language training provider for all ages and expanded from only one Test Prep centre to 15 centres nationwide with more than 100,000 students. Over the past 11 years, YOLA has been supporting Vietnamese students to achieve impressive academic results, such as IELTS 8.5/9.0, TOEFL 119/120, SAT 1590/1600, TOEFL JUNIOR 900/900 as well as total scholarship awards worth over 12 Million USD to its students from the world’s top 100 universities: Harvard, Yale, Stanford
In June 2020, YOLA officially launched its Hybrid teaching model providing all-round academic English learning experience with flexibility in learning, financial commitment from parents and personalized learning for students. Educating with technology is at the very core of what YOLA does and is in its DNA. YOLA believes that the Hybrid teaching model will empower students to impact and bring positive changes for Vietnam and the world.

Achievements and Impact
By the end of 2019, YOLA has achieved more than 335 billion VND in revenue ($15m USD) with 700 staff members. To achieve sustainable growth, in 2019, YOLA spent more than 3 billion VND ($150,000 USD) in training & development across key areas such as soft skills development, functional development, leadership development, successor planning program.

YOLA has a reward system to recognise, acknowledge, and reward employees. It also offers an Employee Stock Ownership Plan to management-level and key employees with the goal of retaining talents.

Future Direction
YOLA, by 2025, will have enrolled 500,000 students and reached 2 million people through education by providing awesome customer experience and employee satisfaction, and by living its core values. Demands for trusted education centers remain high as the Vietnamese population continues to grow and Yola will target more provincial, greenfield cities for expansion. Moreover, with the introduction of its new Hybrid and YOLA Smart Learning model where technology is the core, YOLA will be able to reach and provide the best language education to many students all over Vietnam. High-quality English language programs with well-designed curriculum and top-notch instructors will be easily accessed regardless of where students are. YOLA’s research and development department also works tirelessly to add skill courses to its products to stimulate students’ creativity, enhance classroom engagement, and ignite the powers within each student. Summer camps and YOLA education consulting services will also play a bigger part to the growth of the Company.
