Mr. Do Anh Dung, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Tan Hoang Minh Hotel Service Trading Co., Ltd. (Tan Hoang Minh Group), was born in Hanoi in 1961. He graduated from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor Degree.

Mr Dung has a strong desire to make life better for people and the society and to contribute to the community and to the development of the country. Citing examples like South Korea, Singapore and China, Mr Dung aspires to make Vietnam as successful as these countries.

Mr. Dung was a student at the Hanoi University of Technology. As he did not want to depend on his family, he started his own business in the 70s and 80s by trading gold, clothes and shoes in the market. He started his career at Tan Hoang Minh in 1993. That year, the branch earned a profit of about 2 billion by trading with Eastern Europe. Mr. Dung distributed about 200 million bonuses to his staff for their hard work and handed back to the institute an amount of 1.8 billion. However, the head of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology was not happy with the amount and made him pay compensation. That troubled him as he and his staff had worked very hard and they took only 10% of the profits while the Institute took 90%. So, he decided to resign, handed back the Company to the Institute and started his own business with Tan Hoang Minh Hotel Service Trading Co., Ltd.

Mr. Dung was appointed a director at a very young age (28 years old) and had 3-4 years of experience as a business leader, and the ability and experience of having led his own business. He believes that the most important criteria in running a business is honesty. Over the years, Tan Hoang Minh Group has built up a sound reputation with customers and business partners by producing high quality products and services that are reasonably priced. This reputation has earned the trust and confidence of banks and business partners in lending investment and working capital to the Company.

Mr. Dung has built a conducive working environment in the Company where employees are regarded as a family. The Company has a salary bonus mechanism to attract new talents and to retain existing ones. There are many employees who are still with the Company from the day they joined. Mr. Dung is also sensitive to the changing trends of the market and is flexible in making appropriate changes in their import-export business or in the service and production area to meet changing demands of the market. This is the reason why the Company continues to develop steadily over the years.

For Mr. Dung, entrepreneurship is of great significance for a country. That is the decisive factor for prosperity and sustainability. Entrepreneurship is the incubation, the source of creativity and the development of successive generations. Being creative means changing.
