Pham Le Hieu is a member of the pioneer team that led Vietnam’s entertainment revolution. Hieu is best known as a member of B.O.M and Managing Director of Dong Tay Promotion. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics. After graduating, he spent 14 years in media and show business and ultimately served as the Managing Director of Dong Tay Promotion.

In the early days of entertainment, there were no clear-cut guidelines for the acquisition of copyright contents. In 1995, many foreign clients came to Vietnam to advertise their products. Hieu wanted to provide quality content for his clients but he had to face what seemed insurmountable obstacles in obtaining licensing. With perseverance, Hieu overcame the uncertainties of Copyright infringement laws, systemized the approval process and finally, realized his dream of providing clients with quality content.

He believes in encouraging people to think positively under any instances. He reminds everyone in his organisation that the greatest weapon against stress and negativity is one’s outlook: “When life gives you every reason to be negative, see the good think in what you have and think positive.” Hieu Pham is also a fitness enthusiast and enjoys hiking, cycling and working out at the gym.

As a Managing Director, Hieu has led Dong Tay Promotion to its current phenomenal success in the media entertainment technology field. Starting out with only 6 employees, Dong Tay Promotion has grown into a company with 120 employees with 8 production teams, 20 in-house post-production teams, and partnerships with dozens of international partners like Endemol Shine Group, Viacom International Media Network, Fujisankei Communications International Inc., Fremantle Media Enterprises, KBS, etc.

Dong Tay Promotion is building contents are easily accessible on all multiple platforms and devices, especially digital channels, to have great contents to reach as many people as possible at anytime, anywhere. Whether it is in music, comedy, dance competition, reality talk show, Dong Tay Promotion keeps its finger on pulse of the temperamental market, always finding ways to resonate with the fickle mass with bespoken, tailored local formats or by adopting foreign formats to local taste. With Hieu at the helm, Dong Tay Promotion has become Vietnam’s largest international TV show content provider and dominates prime time on national TV channels such as VTV3 (31%) and HTV7 (46%) with more than 1260 hours of TV shows, 800 episodes of local shows (TNS Kantar Media).

He also emphasises on Dong Tay Promotion’s 360-degree engagement culture that permeates everything the Company does. This is especially true when it comes to content creation. At the start of every content consideration, the input from Production, PR, Media, Client, Digital and Audience are very important.
