Mr. Chanin Vanijwongse is the CEO of Habitat Group Co., Ltd., the leading premium property-for-investment developer in Thailand. The company focuses on the high-end and luxury residential market sectors, identifying clear market niches to create and deliver unique projects. The company strives to develop projects which are unique in character in terms of innovative design and functionality. Under Mr. Chanin’s leadership, Habitat Group has won 37 national and international awards for its developments in recent years including most recently Best Boutique Developer at the 2019 PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, as well as multiple best-in-class for interior design and architecture. Habitat Group’s customer-centric team ensures they offer attractive investment opportunities for all their buyers and foster customer loyalty with future investment prospects.

Mr. Chanin first entered the property industry in 2004 as a private investor. His first investment was the purchase of 63 middle to high-end condominiums and townhouses, which yielded a total revenue of more than 500 million baht within seven years. During 2010 to 2011, he served as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of luxury condominium The Met, which was developed by Hotel Properties Limited in Singapore, and garnered six awards worldwide. He also served on a property management committee for the project that oversaw 366 units worth over 10 billion baht.

With his experience and success in property investment, as well as his in-depth understanding of client needs, Mr. Chanin decided to move from being an individual investor to become a developer, founding Habitat Group in 2012. His very first own property development was in Pattaya. With his desire to create something unique and an investment that would deliver returns to buyers, Mr. Chanin invested 300 million baht in developing The Ville Jomtien Pool Villa – a collection of pool villas which sold out within two years, and were offered for rent, delivering a healthy return on investment for investment buyers.

Following the success of The Ville Jomtien Pool Villa, Habitat Group has since launched premium condominium projects for investment in the Pattaya area, including X2 Vibe Pattaya Seaphere, X2 Pattaya Oceanphere, Best Western Premier Bayphere Pattaya, Bluphere BW Premier Collection by Best Western, Wyndham Atlas Wongamat Pattaya and recently in 2019 launched the 1.5 billion baht Ramada by Wyndham Mira North Pattaya – a luxurious 5-star resort-style condominium in downtown Pattaya which once finished will be under the management of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company.

Mr. Chanin extended his development sphere to Bangkok in 2017 with the launch of the super-luxury residence Leroy Ruamrudee. In 2018, Habitat Group introduced the Walden brand to the Bangkok market – a luxury low rise condominium brand in the heart of Bangkok’s CBD. The first Walden project, the 700 million baht Walden Asoke, was launched in March 2018 and in September 2018 the 950 million baht Walden Sukhumvit 39 was launched.

Building on the success of the Walden brand, Habitat Group announced a joint venture with Japanese real estate specialists, List Group, to launch two new joint venture luxury low-rise condominiums “Walden Thong Lor 8” and “Walden Thong Lor 13”, which have a cumulative value of over 2.8 billion baht. Seven years since establishing Habitat Group, Mr. Chanin is still considered as a new blood in Thailand’s property industry.

Work Philosophy
As CEO, Mr. Chanin’s work philosophy is to lead from the front and enjoy what he does. He is an out-of-the-box thinker, always looking for new angles and ideas, has clear working goals and is detail-oriented. He fosters good relations with employees and partners, and is open to feedback and thought-sharing – these characteristics underscore his success as a forward-thinking CEO and also the success of Habitat Group. Despite his hectic schedule, Mr. Chanin also placed importance on his personal life by making time for family leisure trips domestically and abroad.
