Cellina Yeh is the first female Country Manager of Pfizer Taiwan and has had many years of experience in the high-tech industry as a finance professional yet she continues to challenge herself and innovate. She is a caring and enthusiastic corporate leader who loves to read and share. Cellina is a firm believer and practitioner of servant leadership in which she leads her team to realize their dreams.

She recalled that her career of over 30 years has been marked by a pattern: the offer of a new position every few years and her initial reluctance to accept it. Nevertheless, intrinsic motivation, curiosity, and an insistence on pushing herself outside of her comfort zone have brought her up to top management positions at the leading global pharma company in Taiwan.

In addition, she shared the key lessons that she learned from her wide variety of roles at companies across the industry spectrum with the first one being to dare to dream. She believes that if one feels the inspiration to do something, one should push oneself to move outside of one’s comfort zone. The second lesson is to differentiate oneself from one’s predecessors and discover the additional value that one can bring to a certain role or organization. Lastly, one needs to demonstrate learning agility. Each new role will have its own set of unique and complex challenges, and it is up to an individual to show that they can quickly adapt and face those challenges.

Pfizer Taiwan’s most significant achievement of 2022 is introducing oral antiviral medications for COVID-19 at lightning speed to assist the government in fighting the pandemic.

When the pandemic resurfaced with rage at the beginning of the year, Cellina immediately launched the Lightspeed Project. The team consists of members from 11 divisions and 7 levels. All members, regardless of position, focused on one goal only: To bring COVID-19 oral antiviral treatment to Taiwan as soon as possible. She also set several records such as receiving EUA from the U.S. FDA 22 days after the COVID-19 oral antiviral treatment and making Taiwan the first country to sign a procurement contract with a government in the emerging Asian market and obtain COVID-19 oral antiviral treatment in the emerging Asian market.

In addition, she advocated for precision medicine. She signed the “Precision Medicine Partnership Alliance Agreement” with the National Health Research Institutes to formally initiate the development of precision medicine in cancer with the government and the “Gene Therapy Center MOU” with Taichung Veterans General Hospital to collaborate on the research and development of effective treatments for patients of rare diseases. Cellina also promotes digitalization by leading Pfizer Taiwan to be the social media pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry by launching its Facebook, Instagram, and Line. Furthermore, Cellina is committed to diversity inclusion and helped employees realize their potential. She founded the “DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)” to assist female workers to enhance their career aspirations and to encourage them to pursue their career goals as well as to make an impact in the workplace.
