With more than 35 years of experience in the beauty and slimming industry, Amy Quek has been passionate about the beauty industry since young and has not turned back since. She kicked started her career in Marie France Bodyline Singapore in 1989 as a Consultant and was promoted within a short span of 2 years as General Manager of both Singapore and Malaysia.

Amy also played a pivotal role in the expansion of Marie France Bodyline in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Brunei in the early 90s.

In 2001, she was promoted to become the Regional Operations Director and soon climbed the corporate ladder and was given the responsibility as Chief Operation Officer (COO) in 2005. In June 2012, she was the first female to helm Marie France Bodyline as Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

A usual day for Amy would encompass managing all aspects of the business including sales, product development, human resources, project management, training and marketing to determine the Brand’s strategic direction. A specialist in leadership; she has over 2 decades of experience in organisational development, facilitation and advancing human performance. Her approach is about redefining your limits and removing the barriers that stand in the way of operational success. She inspires with her view point on achievement drive, motivation and people engagement.

As a true advocate of applying innovative technology to drive beauty results; the brands managed by her have an established track record of being the first to bring in the latest in beauty technology within the category. The most recent in the case of Svenson Hair Centre was the in-depth hair analysis which is the first in the region for precise hair loss diagnosis. This technology can generate quantifiable results across 11 statistical segments such as average number of hairs per follicle, follicle count and hair thickness. A clear example will be in the case that part of our team of Trichologists had been certified with being Official International Affiliates of the Institute of Trichologists (IOT). Founded in 1902, IOT is the foremost professional association for Trichologists in the world. As the largest provider for trichology training in Europe, the institute has built a high standard in the Trichology industry worldwide for training and professional practices.

In July 2017, she was the founder of our new brand, BMF Bella Marie France, from the unification of two iconic brands – Marie France Bodyline and Bella Skin Care. Her philosophy on the new brand stems from a true understanding of today’s cosmopolitan women who aspire to achieve a holistic work-life balance and enjoy a wholesome diet for themselves and their families. Thus, the new business was developed specifically to cater to the needs of our time-hungry customers, who place utmost importance in enjoying curated and precise treatments. Positioned as a Beauty Gym with whole lot of goodness, this state of-the-art centre promises a plethora of cutting-edge face and body treatments that gives you the freedom to pursue a curated and precise rejuvenation regime rooted in science. Every step is digitised for advanced diagnostic, consultation and treatment processes. A go-getter and resilient by nature, this mother of three has invested substantial funds, talent and time to ensure the brand retains its leadership position in the marketplace. A firm believer that anything is possible, the key driver for her success was due largely to her fearless ambition, tenacity and resourcefulness. Despite her impressive success in her professional life, she counts her 3 children as her greatest achievements, blessed with 2 sons and a daughter aged 28, 17 & 24 respectively.

She is proud to say her kids have stayed very sensible and prudent, despite their sheltered and privileged upbringing. She is also a strong advocate on the importance of education as she had to take the tougher and longer route to success due to her family situation that didn’t allow her to continue her studies. Her eldest son who is married is a civil service scholar and her daughter has just started her career path as a lawyer. Her youngest is still in school and will sit for his “IB” next year. Married for 30 years, her husband has been the love of her life since she was 18 and their mutual and constant support for each other is truly an inspiration to many couples. This family-oriented couple thrives in having regular bonding time with both their immediate and extended family and are always hosting family activities and get-togethers. Both share an avid interest in watches and are modest collectors.

During her leisure time, she likes to indulge in Art, cooking and travelling. She adores animals and houses 1 cat and 2 cute puppies. With her tender love, all 3 pets have been living together harmoniously for the last 5 years.

Always willing to challenge herself; she has just begun her Master of Business Studies with Murdoch University of Australia. Although it’s been quite a struggle balancing both her hectic work schedule and course work, Amy finds great self-satisfaction with the whole process.

She has also been giving back to the society whenever possible on both a personal and professional level. “For Christmas last year, we purchase cookie jars from a local Christian charity set up which provides refuge to women who are recovering drug addicts and/ or seeking help to from it. These purchases were then distributed to our customers to help raise awareness for the cause.”

Her past charity work includes working with her church and DSA in Singapore in raising funds for the needy, and she has always been known for her compassion and ever so willing to provide financial aid on a personal level to any staff in medical need.
