Information about the Company

The Immigration People (TIP) started their operations in September 2019. The team comprises dedicated staff with more than twentyfive years of collective experience in Singapore immigration matters with knowledge contributed by ex-ICA and ex-Ministry officers. Their company mission is to empower people with the proper knowledge and help them achieve their residency dream. In an industry currently unregulated, TIP holds its operations to high moral standards. As a result, they were awarded the ‘Best Start-up in 2020’ by ‘The SME 100 Awards’.

TIP’s mission is to work-wise and better themselves every day to ensure their clients’ applications are well-represented to the authorities. They will aim to stay transparent and operate with outstanding levels of honesty. Building a solid relationship with clients, built on trust and performance, is of paramount importance to them. Their vision is to become a reputable go-to brand for immigration matters in Singapore and be a trusted name that people and businesses want to associate with.

TIP clearly defines their values as teamwork, Integrity, Professionalism, Structure, Transparency, Empowerment, and Reliability.

Corporate Culture and Initiatives

In just a year and a half, TIP grew to a team of 11. TIP focuses on the diversity of race and ethnicities so that their staff can resonate with the people they serve while setting an example of Singapore’s multiracial, multicultural, multireligious heritage form. TIP also facilitates social integration between local and ex-pats by directing their clients to local charities for philanthropic activities. That is TIP’s way of ensuring a border connect of their clients to the people they want to become a part of. TIP is also part of Enterprise Singapore’s Global Ready Talent Programme, offering internship placements for local University students to experience corporate life while learning about the Singapore immigration policies and landscape. TIP is also actively working with the local polytechnics to offer internship programs.

Growth Initiatives

In 2021 TIP crossed USD$1million in revenue. It survived through the COVID-19 circuit breaker without having to lay off any staff or implementing pay-cuts. Instead, TIP focused on other costcontrolling methods. TIP’s management was able to forecast the impacts of COVID-19 since late January 2020 and had already prepared their staff, operation processes, and IT systems to enable staff to Work-From-Home (WFH) seamlessly while ensuring data protection which they so strongly advocate and implement.

TIP is also establishing overseas branches, planning on expansion to outbound immigration services to countries like Canada, Australia, The European Union, Dubai, and United States.

TIP collaborates with many established companies who have the same pool/ profile of clients to host seminars, workshops, and webinars.

Achievements and Impact

TIP has more than 60 organics google reviews and maintains a 5-star rating by clients. Having a 5-star google review rating is uncommon in the Singapore immigration industry as the outcome of the immigration applications are not within their control. It is significant because it takes six months to a year for applicants to get approvals from Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and a majority of the clients prefer to leave those comments only after getting their PR or Citizenship application approved. That being sad, there are still a handful of TIP’s clients who did not wait that long to leave a review. They were simply impressed by the quality of work, service and relationship they had experienced with TIP that they need not wait for the outcome to leave their testimonial.

TIP has also invested in A.I with an interactive Chatbot to serve their clients and prospects better. Mobile application to further engaging their clients is in the pipeline. In addition, TIP is expanding its service portfolio to include coaching, training, and teaching so that future generations of applicants can benefit from it.

TIP was one of the very few businesses that identified Zoom as the next “big thing”, using it extensively since 2019 for its webinars and meeting with clients. Thus, moving to zoom-only interaction with clients was reasonably easy during the Circuit breaker.

Working towards the Singapore government’s directives to for Sustainable Workforce in the Transition towards Green Economy, TIP digitised all its processes and is paperless. That is especially commendable as immigration is a paper-heavy industry. TIP procured an internal secured server to adhere to Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and store all their clients’ data and documents, ensuring complete protection and confidentiality while enforcing maximum interactions online to minimise the carbon footprint.

TIP has also created its own YouTube channel to debunk the myths and unethical practices in the Singapore immigration industry. So far, they are the only Company in the industry practising this.

Future Direction

TIP aims to drive transparency and integrity in the industry, forcing other competitors to improve customer service and accountability.
