Information about the Company
Quantum Automaton (QA) started its business as a Building Management System Integrator since 1979. QA has been in the Building Management System (BMS)/Extra Low Current Systems (ELV) environment for more than 40 years now. Over the years, the Company has evolved and expanded its scope from mere system integration work to the development of controllers of various kinds and with open protocols like Lonwork, Modbus and BacNet, gateways to interface to various proprietary communication protocols, customised application software like Work Flow, FBS and Energy Management Software.Quantum is the pioneer in introducing open systems to the building industry in Singapore. The Company brought in LonMark open protocol to Singapore in 2002 which revolutionised the building management industry. To date, the building industry adopts the open standard protocols by default. QA’s controllers have been successfully implemented projects in major buildings for more than 10 years. The hardware and software developed by QA are compliant with industry standards which allowed QA’s products to penetrate the market internationally.
Quantum’s Mission is in the domain of automation and system integration, it strives to be the obvious choice by providing preferred solutions, which is unparalleled in its value and quality of products and services. To date, QA has hundreds of installed base with more than a hundred maintenance contracts serviced by QA.
QA’s business model is to be self-sufficient by manufacturing its own key critical components of the total Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) solution. This will eliminate the constraints and limitations that may be posed by 3rd party critical components of the solution. With the elimination of the constraints, there will be no boundary for QA to continue to cater for the ever changing demands of new technology within the life span of the system. QA’s expansion plan is to capitalise on its wealth of engineering and development know-how, to develop applications for a broader industries.
Corporate Culture & Company Activities
To date, Quantum is extensively involved in Green Buildings requirements. The controllers are programmed to manage the chillers’ plant, air conditioning, lightings and other M&E systems to achieve Green mark requirement. The Company was contracted and had successfully installed the BMS for BCA Academy Zero Energy Building and the Sky Lab which is latest BCA revolving laboratory that is used to test-bed technologies to bring more “positive energy” buildings to life.Many Green Mark; platinum, gold plus and gold buildings were installed with Quantum BMS system. Example is CapitaGreen; nominated as a finalist in World Building Council Asia Pacific leadership Awards in Green Building 2016. CapitaGreen is also a Winner in the SGBC-BCA Sustainability Leadership Awards 2016. Other projects are Metropolis, Yale-NUS, Ocean Financial Centre, Fusionopolis Tower C, SMU and OUE Bayfront. With the global drive for carbon reduction and other green initiatives, QA believes it has unlimited growth potential in this area.

Achievements and Impact
Quantum has a Research and Development (R&D) facility in Singapore to develop its programmable controllers, application and interface software. For example, QA build its own Web based Energy Management Software to cater for the BCA Green Mark report. Having a local R&D facility will give the Company agility in servicing, providing both customised hardware and software that meet customers’ needs.Future Direction
