Distribution Solutions Phils., Inc. (Distriphil) is a national pharmaceutical distribution company. The business revolves around marketing and distributing its in-house products, providing sales and/or marketing services including warehousing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and nutritional supplements to other national or multinational pharmaceutical companies to support the healthcare needs of the Philippines.

The company was incorporated on July 16, 2014, and its operations started in January 2015. The founder, William Chiongbian, built this organization with the firm belief that “to live in a better world, people must take good CARE of each other, and this has been the underlying principle that underpins all Distriphil’s undertaking from its birth up to the present.

Today, Distriphil is considered a major player in the healthcare services business. It has been partnering with national and multinational companies in providing sales and marketing service solutions for almost 7 years since it entered the Philippine Pharmaceutical market. The company has also provided worldclass distribution and warehousing services to support the growing healthcare requirements of various multinational and national pharmaceutical companies.

Training and development programs are crafted annually to strengthen employee capabilities in performing their current functions, and these programs are based on a robust training needs assessment. A well-structured performance management system is also in place to support and manage the achievement of the annual objectives of each employee.

Career development is established via the Internship and the emerging talent program. Internships and cross-postings enable Distriphil talents to be broadened via immersion to managerial roles while the emerging talent program prepares a high potential employee for internships and cross-postings through completion of career specific training curriculum. Through these programs, Distriphil can prepare high-potential employees for career growth based on the employee’s strengths, interests, and preferences.

Distriphil believes that leaders define culture and are the key drivers of excellence and innovation. As such, a well-structured leadership development program is designed and implemented. This inhouse leadership development program is a mini-MBA (Master of Business Administration) program that includes the completion of MBA-based training modules and the completion of a group innovation project.

Employees in Distriphil are involved and engaged in the creation of business strategies. The annual Strategic planning meetings gather all the great minds of Distriphil to complete a series of activities that culminates with the creation of the corporate, brand, and departmental strategies and programs.

Lastly, to complete the cultivation of the whole individual, the Project Connect program is launched. This program is designed to promote a sound heart, mind, body, and spirit while at the same time strengthening employee engagement, productivity, and morale. This includes activities like Lunch & Learn, Wellness Challenges, Beer Talks, Health Awareness Academy, Innovation Festival, Leadership Rounds, Work-life Integration, and Team Building Activities.

These initiatives are continuously implemented to sustain the high employee engagement and morale of Distriphil employees as demonstrated by the high employee engagement score in the series of employee engagement surveys conducted over the past 6 years. Achievements and Impact

Distriphil has expanded in terms of infrastructure from its modest warehouse facility in the South of Metro Manila that can only accommodate less than 1,000 palette positions to now up to 11,000 palette positions to cater to its clientele needs, along with additional warehouses in the VISAYAS and MINDANAO regions. Business solutions clients’ expansion is brought about by partnerships with DKSH, LUYE PHARMA of HONGKONG, SANOFI, and HALEON to name a few.

Future Direction

Since its inception, Distriphil has put into place a simple road map/strategy to achieve focus and its long-term goal. This plan includes continued collaboration and partnership with national and MNC companies in providing business solutions, always ensuring customer satisfaction, and being one with them in achieving their business goal to secure strategic alliances. Moreover, it also aims to build its portfolio by continually growing its product inhouse promoted brands and business solution service offering to pharma companies and focus on capability building in the areas of people development, distribution and supply chain excellence, and commercial solution excellence.
