MediLink Network, Inc. is a health tech company from the Philippines committed to enabling efficient, accessible and affordable healthcare. Established in 1999 as a joint venture between Equicom and F.E. Zuellig, MediLink initially aimed to simply automate hospitals and clinics through the deployment of point-of-sale (POS) terminals. Twenty years later, MediLink has successfully expanded its services to include various health tech services from eligibility verification, transaction authorization, claim processing, fraud analytics and machine learning.

What keeps MediLink on track in fulfilling its mission is the desire to build a stronger healthcare community that benefits all stakeholders. MediLink is, first and foremost, a company of geeks. MediLinkers are inspired to help bridge the healthcare demand and supply mismatch with technology. A key thrust is minimizing paper and repetitive routines for health professionals while ensuring that payments are prompt and accurate. To date, MediLink is the only fully electronic health network serving the Philippine healthcare ecosystem, with up to 2+ million members, 30,000+ practitioners and 700+ facilities. MediLink believes in innovation not just through technology but also through its core Values.

Corporate Culture & Company Activities
Despite its twenty-year tenure in the service, MediLink’s organizational demographic and culture is young and light. This complements the complexities of the daily tasks entailed in providing solutions for its stakeholders. MediLink is equally active in both Corporate Social Responsibility Activities and Employee Engagement Activities, with at least one activity in a month. Recently, the company welcomed its newly renovated pantry and co-working space by conducting a Digital Addiction Seminar, which discussed the possibility of people being digitally addicted to their digital devices and the digital world in general. Other company-wide activities include Equicom Sports Festival where MediLink competed in friendly sports & relay competitions with its affiliated companies; MediLink Walks The Talk — the company’s body wellness campaign where MediLink encouraged its employees to increase their daily step count by setting a targeted company-wide step goal; MediLink Volunteers To Feed — a tree planting activity in partnership with Fostering Education & Environment for Development (FEED, Inc.) and more.

Achievements and Impact
MediLink’s humble beginnings was initiated by seven employees who simply wanted to introduce automation through the deployment of POS terminals in hospitals and clinics. Now, the company has 200+ employees. Because the company is in the service of health ecosystem stakeholders, it has also successfully allocated 50+ concierge staff to key affiliated hospitals and clinics. With the goal of harnessing talents, MediLink’s Human Capital Development invests in the potential of its young demographic through Talent Development initiatives. These initiatives include the Coaching and Mentoring Program where high-performing employees are recognized and given a chance to help contribute to their colleagues’ career growth; and the continuous investment in various trainings and certification programs for MediLink employees of all levels.

Future Direction
With MediLink’s commitment to its promise of enabling efficient, accessible and affordable healthcare, the company continues to push boundaries and innovate further by developing multiple integrated systems each designed to cater to the specific needs of a key stakeholder.

With 2020 fast-approaching, MediLink has its eyes set on further strengthening its workforce through initiatives such as the 360 Degree Feedback Program where a more holistic approach in the internal organizational development will be implemented. This evaluation aims to develop individual employee performance development, team performance development, and in the bigger scheme of things, organizational performance. Another initiative for the future includes recertification in ISO standards and additional certifications to other relevant management systems.
