GBP answered the government’s call for additional supply by putting up a 3x82 MW Circulating Fluidized Bed boiler plant in Cebu through Cebu Energy Development Corporation (CEDC). This was followed by a 2x82 MW CFB facility in Iloilo through Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC).

Supporting GBP’s operational strength is an engaged and talented workforce. GBP has taken steps to enhance employee skills and build leaders from within. GBP currently employs 947 employees across five subsidiaries, with a low turnover rate of 4 percent. 35 percent of its management team are women, while the entire Cebu Operations is led by a woman.

Because of its strong commitment to employee development, GBP has been named one of the best companies to work for in the country and the region by HR Asia, the region’s most authoritative publication for HR professionals. GBP’s operational and environmental performance has likewise garnered consistent environmental awards and recognition from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources and Pollution Control Association of the Philippines for its environmental management practices and systems.

Future Direction

Aligned with its new Vision to become a sustainable energy solutions provider, in response to the changing market dynamics and environmental conditions, GBP pursues innovative approach in ensuring sustainable operations by carrying out cost effective measures and offering value added services for the benefit of the consumers.
