Capt. Naido Bueno Duldulao came from the City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, also known as the “Sunshine City”, due to its sunny weather almost all throughout the year. He is known to be a Master Mariner, a respectable entrepreneur, a reliable partner to his wife, and a good father to his children.

His greatest journey began when he left his hometown and took up his Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation, Major in Navigation and Seamanship at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy of Fort Bonifacio in 1972. After successfully finishing his bachelor’s degree, he then pursued Masters in Business Administration at Ateneo de Davao University in 1983, which he finished shortly in 1986.

Capt. Naido has been immensely exposed to Maritime Industry ever since he accomplished his degrees. He has been associated with different shipping companies in the country and in abroad such as Harold Schultz (1972-1974), a Germany-based shipping company; Empresa Hondurenda de Vapors (1974-1980), based in New York; and Tela Railroad Company (1980-1981), in Honduras as ship officer and eventually Master Mariner, Port Superintendent, and Port Manager. Aside from being a man of the sea, he also had experienced land-based shipping operations in the corporate shipping industry. He was the Senior Manager of the Mindanao Fruit Company, a subsidiary of the Chiquita International, from 1981 to 1991. He was, at the same time, the Diversified Product Manager of Chiquita International Ltd in Hong Kong from 1984 to 1986 and then later on became the Operations Manager of the same company from 1986 to 1991. His vast experience to maritime industry was his foothold in building his own company, a group of companies that covers different industries such as but not limited to Maritime, Manning, Manufacturing, and Tourism.

In 1991, he founded ND Shipping Agency & Allied Services, Inc., the flagship of ND Shipping Group of Companies. This company caters husbanding, port-operations, and ship management services to its local and international clients and partners. Among these partners are DN.G. De Nadai Group S.p.a. in Italy, Unifrutti, Sumifru, and Dole in Philippines, Fresh Carriers Co., Ltd. and Santoku Senpaku Co., Ltd. in Japan, Siem Ship Management and LSM London Ship Managers Ltd. in Europe.

ND Shipping Agency & Allied Services, Inc. made a mark in the industry and became the mother company when Capt. Naido decided to build subsidiaries namely, Jorona Aqua Travel & Tours, Corp., Acestar Security Agency, Inc., Jorona Aquatic Resources & International Trading, Corp., NSNT Medical Placement & Allied Services, Inc., Jorona Global USA, LLC, Asian International Movers & Maritime Services, Inc., and Jorona Mountain Beach Resort.

Other than being a renowned entrepreneur, he also became a leader of various organizations in the Philippines. Capt. Duldulao’s professional involvements also include his affiliation as Captain of the 104th squadron of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, President of the Davao Ship Agents’ Association from 1995 to 1999, and was appointed President of the Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS) Batch 1967’s 35th and 50th year reunions.

Because of his remarkable accomplishments, Capt. Naido received several awards and recognitions. He was awarded by his alma matter, Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS), as the Outstanding Leader – US Chapter in 2002 and Outstanding Alumni in the Shipping Business in 2006. In 2007, the local government of Island Garden City of Samal recognized him for his contributions to the local community. He was also given the honor to be chosen as the Outstanding Laoageño in the Field of Business in 2009. Moreover, Capt. Duldulao was awarded for his significant contribution in the maritime sector in 2010.

His visions and principles has pushed him to navigate possibilities and expansion opportunities which further lead him to building his business empire that is still persistently progressing up until now. Capt. Duldulao fervently believes that the most important key factor in having a successful business is by taking care of the people who make up the organization – the employees.
