Mr. Pham Viet Anh has been working in oil and gas industry for 25 years. He started his career from 1992 with two years for British Petroleum in England and one year for Mobil Company in the United States. In 1995, he worked at PTSC Marine – the biggest subsidiary of Petro Vietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC). Mr. Pham has 22 year of experiences in various administrative positions from head of business division to General Director and member of Board of Directors. At PTSC, he had been assigned different positions in PV Gas and PV Trans and had gained valuable knowledge in shipping as well as in oil and gas industries.

Mr. Pham holds professional certificates and awards including Labor Medal of Second class and Third class, Outstanding Petro Vietnam Entrepreneur, Certificate of Merits from Prime Minister. Furthermore, he has received his Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Economics as well as Mechanical Engineer from Hanoi University of Technology.

Since December 2010, Mr. Pham had been appointed as CEO of Petro Vietnam Transportation Corporation (PV Trans). During that period, PV Trans had confronted many obstacles such as high capital expenditures, shipping crisis, parent company’s loss, employee lay-off, which led to risk of bankruptcy or being merged. Upon joining the Company, Mr. Pham initiated a comprehensive restructuring program. He had also decided to improve the governance, manage risks of corporate finance, retain talented employees, expand the market, optimize manufacturing activities, reduce and save costs, and to provide professional training for crew members and staffs.

As a result of Mr. Pham’s drastic solutions, PV Trans had become a well-known and professional company. After two years of thorough restructuring, PV Trans had overcome the severe crisis, built up a solid foundation for sustainable development and begun to generate stable revenues and profit since 2012. Till to date, PV Trans has transformed from a transporter with 01 crude oil tanker and around 100 employees into a leading liquid transporter with 09 subsidiaries, 02 branches, 2 affiliates, 23 vessels and over 1,650 employees.

Under Mr. Pham’s leadership, PV Trans’s equity has successfully doubled its business and increased its profits more than thirteen times within his eight-year tenure. Furthermore, the Company’s financial targets have become more transparent and are geared towards sustainability.

Apart from focusing on business activities, Mr. Pham also takes account of the welfare of his employees by creating a safe working environment for them and ensuring they receive stable income. In addition, Mr. Pham had organized a number of social events, ideological education and competitions for his employees to foster unity, innovation and cooperation among them in the company and to support them to achieve their targets.

Mr. Pham also believes that active participation in charity activities and contribution to the community are an essential mission of PV Trans towards the society. Hence, the Company had effectively aided social events such as building charity house, local clinic house, houses for Vietnamese heroic Mother; made donations to Truong Sa islands; supported coast guards in protecting maritime sovereignty; and awarded scholarships for impoverished students.

PV Trans, formerly known as Petrovietnam Transportation Corporation is a state-owned enterprise, and a member unit of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (known as the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group). The Company was established in 27 May 2002 under the Decision No. 358 / QD-VPCP of the Minister of the Government. After nearly 5 years of operation under the model of state-owned enterprises, PVTrans has been equitized since March 2006 under the Decision No. 758 / QD-BCN of Ministry of Industry on March 30, 2006 and officially converted to Petrovietnam Transportation Joint Stock Corporation from July 23, 2007 (according to Business Registration Certificate No. 4103006624 of the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City), according to which the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) holds 60% of charter capital.

In order to contribute to the successful implementation of the overall strategy of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry, Mr. Pham is tasked to lead PV Trans to establish and develop a fleet of crude oil, gas and other types of business to meet the growing demand of the oil and gas industry in Vietnam and in the region.

Mr. Pham aims to lead PV Trans to become the largest marine service in Vietnam and the strongest brand in the region. The company achieves its vision through participating in ensuring national energy security, meeting the demand for oil and gas transportation services, taking care of their employees, ensuring the interests of shareholders, and contributing to the society.
