Its CAPEX Investment has increased to RM60 million from RM18 million with the addition of 10 SMT lines and two manufacturing plants thus far. The company revenue increased from RM100 million to RM1.2 billion within a 4-year time frame with the manufacturing plants expanded from 1 to 9 plants.
Meanwhile, the capital investment in human resources increased two folds from RM5 million to RM10 million. SMTT heavily invested in training to sharpen the skills of employees from various aspects. The number of customers has also increased significantly from 1 to 12 customers, inclusive of customer with high-tech product in the advanced optical product for the 5G technology. With the significant growth in the business operation, the number of employees increased from 300 to about 3,000 with a turnover of less than 5%. SMTT has devised an initiative in promoting talent from the pool of employees on hand with its “Elite Generation 2022” which is aimed at recognizing, growing, training and rewarding the potential individual in alignment with the organization needs.
All these efforts will enhance the 4R Summit focusing on Reset, Recharge, Refocus and Regain for the continuous growth of the organization.

SMTT will also expand and redesign its current manufacturing site for operational excellence with due consideration in the Lean Manufacturing System (LMS).
