Introduction

There is no guide to being a Managing Director and making everything run smoothly, bringing diverse experiences to the table through connections is a great way to be successful and rise above company challenges, said Goh Ming Kang (better known as MK). Diversity is a great way to stay open and stay fresh to new ideas, he said, adding that many ideas at Tech Food Ingredients Sdn Bhd comes from the diversity
among backgrounds, hobbies and opinions of its employees. Appreciating the importance of employee’s feedback, he gets to interact with employees on a daily basis.

People have one of two mindsets: scarcity thinking and best of-class thinking, MK explains. Too many people operate through fear and scarcity, says MK. However, successful people do not think that way, he says ‘The world-class operates through more of a love and abundance mentality,
so they are seeing the opportunities. They are looking for the opportunities; they believe they can succeed in the opportunities, where the rest are sort of in that fear and scarcity mindset and trying to survive.’

According to Goh Ming Kang, Tech Food produces fruit preparations that are made up to 80% of fruits of the finest quality. The fruits used in Tech Food are not only selected based on their good taste and freshness, but also the specific fruit origins and varieties. The fruit preparations are rich and natural in taste that integrates well with cakes, ice cream, pastries, beverages and etc. MK further added that all the products are custom made with guaranteed products stability, bake-stable, frozen and thaw stable in order to preserve the quality of the products.

Corporate Culture

Tech Food’s directions lead by its CEO, is to create a robust operating platform capable of delivering consistent growth through Creative, Energetic and Dynamic Workplace. Goh Ming Kang credits the success of Tech Food to the CEO for her vision. According to MK, ‘CEO is a person who takes excellence very seriously indeed. Many of us struggle to achieve this state, she appears effortlessly to accomplish it in whatever field she chooses to play. Her words often ignite a storm of thinking that only abates, after you go through an internal dialogue to grasp the rudiments of the message, culminating with the realisation that within its simplicity.’

MK imparts guidance to his team frequently, ‘We all have dreams, hopes, and wishes. There is this one thing that we want to accomplish, acquire and attain. Still, most of us never get to this point, especially if what we desire is beyond average, something great, something outstanding.’

Why is that? Why do we all have those dreams and still yet, so few make it there? What happens?

“Uni Wall has chosen to take on a different path for development as compared to other companies. As one of Malaysia’s largest facade companies with a mission focused on the façade industry, the Company aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the construction industry economy. ”

It is easy to shrug and say it is because life happened. But if we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that life also happens to everyone else, including the ones that do become successful. At the end of the day it is an individual journey, are we strong mentally to face diversity and constantly we need to reflect on ourselves.

MK further reiterated determination comes down to wanting something bad enough that you need to work hard for it with no shortcuts. The only way to make it in business is through hard work and drive so deep that brings out the will to push your own limits to reach greater heights, he learnt this from his parents.
