Dr. Ausanee Mahagitsiri Leonio obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the Thamasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, she pursued her graduate studies at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, taking up International Business Administration. After completion of her first Master’s Degree at the Boston University, she worked at Bank Boston, Boston Massachusetts for one year. Being her childhood dream to follow the footstep of her father, Prayudh Mahagitsiri, an epitome of a successful entrepreneur, she studied her second Master’s Degree at Babson College, awarded as number one by USA today to be the best in the field of entrepreneurship. While pursuing her MBA at Babson College, she used her spare time to work as teaching assistant to hasten her skills and knowledge. After she returned home, she started her first job at the Ministry of Finance.

While living and studying in America, she had the opportunity to taste one of the popular doughnut brand, KrispyKreme doughnuts. This is the beginning of her passion and love for doughnut. In fact, her husband, Mr. Lawrence Leonio, brought the KrispyKreme doughnuts as souvenirs and gifts every time he returned home from abroad. Out of this simple food experience and combining her skills and knowledge in business and entrepreneurship,

Dr. Ausanee come up with the idea of bringing the KrispyKreme Doughnuts in Thailand, thinking of the vast market potentials. However, the business idea of franchising a KrispyKreme Doughnuts in Thailand was not easy because there were so many interested applicants. Luck and combining her love and persistence to conquer and bring the KrispyKreme brand to Thailand, the KrispyKreme International approved her application for franchise in 2009. Looking at the vast potential and business opportunities, Dr. Ausanee, immediately prepared a business plan for approval of the KrispyKreme International, applying and taking into considerations her work experiences from graduate schools and the love and support from her husband and parents.

The efforts of Dr. Ausanee, bear fruits and paved the her way in bringing KrispyKreme Doughnuts to Thailand with the opening of its first branch in September 28, 2009. Although not as expected, the opening of the first KrispyKreme branch in Thailand became a history with people queuing for several hours just to buy one doughnut. The line was record breaking that people had to queue for almost 24.5 hours to buy their first doughnut.

The unprecedented business success of KrispyKreme Doughnuts in Thailand received the attention of various media organizations and she was selected to receive several awards. Likewise, Dr.Ausanee’s efforts and business success in bringing KrispyKreme Doughnuts to Thailand was noticed by some women organizations and she was awarded as most influential people in 2011 by Praew Magazine. Her business success was also recognized by the Foundation for Science and Technology Council of Thailand. She also received several awards and recognitions ranging from marketing excellence and social excellence awards from KrispyKreme International.

Dr. Ausanee’s success in bringing KrispyKreme to Thailand and with her outstanding performance, KrispyKreme Thailand was selected to host the Krispy Kreme International Conference in 2012. A gathering of executives from the Krispy Kreme International and 90 exhibitors and owners from 22 countries around the world. Without any hesitations and proving that she can do it with her skills and business acumen, Dr. Ausanee accepted the challenge and the gargantuan task in holding the international conference. In fact, before the start of the conference, she was able to gather the foreign exhibitors and owners, wearing their green silk blouse that symbolizes the color of KrispyKreme, to give away KrispyKreme doughnuts to different underprivileged organizations.

Dr. Ausanee’s passion and love for food did not stop with KrispyKreme. True to her vision and commitment to bring together delicious foods from around the world at a reasonable prices for the Thai people to enjoy and indulge in those amazing flavours, she founded the King Food Group of Companies. With the King Food Group Co. and anticipating the vast market potentials of the food industry, the last three (3) years was very busy and productive for Dr. Ausanee with the establishment of Cinnabon, Bulgogi Brothers, Pie-Face, Jamba Juice and IHOP in Thailand.

Moreover, one thing that makes Dr. Ausanee happy and fulfilled with her business success, is the fact that her company continues to provide employment opportunities to the Thai people and foreigners. A pride of every entrepreneur that cannot be exchanged for profit.
