The company is a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm which core businesses include architecture; mechanical and electrical engineering; civil and structure engineering; process engineering; mechanical/ piping engineering; instrumentation and control engineering; quantity surveying; landscape architecture; and environmental studies.

The company’s vision is to continuously pursue the quest for quality and excellence, through synergistic teamwork and simultaneously achieving efficiency, functionality and innovation in design, construction and maintenance. Its mission include developing a high-performance team of professionals with strong management skills and technical experiences; building progressive and dynamic identity for the company; delivering projects through innovative approach with the core competency of manpower, utilization of business partners and creative project management approach; acquiring specialized technologies with emphasis on quality, health, safety and environment, and etc. Additionally, the company’s corporate values are quality, accountability, agility, leadership, and compassion.

Corporate Culture & Company Activities
KBCS ensures an effective governance system where legal and regulatory compliance are established and reviewed. Moreover, key business and support processes for each department in the company has been set out in the MS ISO 9001:2015 document. The company also reviews and improves the effectiveness of personal leadership and involvement in meeting organizational vision, mission, values, and ethics.

KBCS Management seeks feedback on the effectiveness of its leadership at different levels and achieves competitive advantage through acts of innovation with the broadest sense, including the latest software, and technologies, which help in exploring an entirely new market opportunity such as Kuching’s Urban Transportation System (KUTS), which heart is Autonomous Rail Transit (ART).

The company also has a succession planning process and development of future leaders that involves sending employees to various seminars, training, and conference to enhance leadership effectiveness such as Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship, Businessmen’s Camp, Supernatural Leadership Camp, Tax seminars, Quality Management System training, DATUM conference, Engineering seminars and so on.

In addition, KBCS fulfills its corporate social responsibility through organizing programs and activities such as industrial training attachment to university and college students to develop professionals; financial contribution in-kind; motivational talks; study tours by students; school and longhouse adoptions; free consultancy services for churches and etc.
Achievements & Impact
KBCS is now supported by 156 staffs which consists of 9 Certified Professionals, 48 Professionals, 77 technical staffs, and 22 supporting staffs which is a drastic increase compared to its 6 staffs in 2006.

The company also established its Oil & Gas Division in Miri, Sarawak on 10 October 2018 with Engineering capability ranges from all engineering disciplines, including process, mechanical and piping, civil and structural, electrical and instrumentation, making them more marketable in these broad spectrum of industries.

KBCS’ turnover record is 11% in 2017; 29% in 2018; 36% in 2019; 16% in 2020, and 13% in 2021. Since the Covid-19 outbreak until last year, KBCS has gained 15.87% growth economically. The company has provided job opportunities to young architects and engineers, and it became a key player with best practice with all constructions or works related to their expertise being produced with cutting-edge technologies and software.

KBCS’ sustainable strategy involves allocating strong resources and identifying strategic challenges using a robust strategic planning process taking into consideration reliable data and knowledge.
