Dato’ Dr Jessie is a successful entrepreneur, founder and Group CEO of East West One Group, who ventured into the oil palm plantation industry in Sabah in early-2000. She has successfully established and developed East West One Group’s business interests within the oil palm value chain including oil palm plantation development and management, oil palm cultivation, palm oil seedling distribution and FFB collection centres operation. Today, the group’s businesses have expanded regionally into Indonesia, specifically in the oil palm and mining industries.
Dato’ Dr. Jessie was previously a medical doctor before becoming an entrepreneur. She capitalized on her early exposure to her grandfather’s rubber estate and her hands-on understanding of the nature of plantation business when venturing into the palm oil industry.
Dato’ Dr. Jessie possesses end-to-end and hands-on experience in managing and operating oil palm estates ranging from estate and field management to harvesting. She is also fully responsible for all corporate strategies of the group. She would constantly attend workshops and forums to keep abreast with the latest trends and matters facing the palm oil industry.
Under Dato’ Dr. Jessie’s stewardship, East West One Group became the 1st group in Malaysia to operate and manage two Companies Commission of Malaysia approved oil palm interest schemes, making us the leading and largest oil palm interest scheme operator and manager in Malaysia in terms of land bank of
about 30,000 acres. The group’s success in receiving the 2nd license from the Companies Commission of
Malaysia is largely attributable to our success in meeting the requirements and expectations of the investors besides our continuous transparent dissemination of information and updates in respect of our business and land development. East West One Group is deemed by many as not only a successful planter’s scheme operator but also viewed as the model oil palm interest schemes operator in Malaysia.
In 2014, Dato’ Dr. Jessie’s oil palm business expanded into Indonesia, successfully acquiring rights to operate a significant landbank suitable for oil palm cultivation. Dato’ Dr. Jessie had also formalised strategic local partnerships, which entails the group’s involvement in the quarry management and mining operations of numerous natural stone quarries, as well as the international marketing and trading of natural stones in the form of blocks, slabs and tiles. In the Papua Province of Indonesia, the group also holds timber operations on a land area with significant potential for future conversion into valuable plantation land.
In 2018, Dato’ Dr. Jessie also led the group to sponsor a named chair, “East West One Group International Professor of Management and Economics”, for the esteemed Thai scholar, Professor Kriengsak Chareonwongsak at Universiti Utara Malaysia.
A huge proponent and advocate of holistic wellness lifestyle, Dato’ Dr. Jessie firmly believes in not taking
one’s health for granted. She has recently ventured into the wellness industry, establishing a 7,600 sq.
ft. private holistic wellness center that integrates a myriad of multidisciplinary diagnostics, detoxifications, repair interventions and rejuvenating therapies for the prevention of aging diseases of local and international clients. She has developed a ‘4 Steps to Wellness’ program catering to the burgeoning demand for international wellness tourism services, and formalized referral partnership with reputable regenerative medical center in Thailand. In addition, she owns a biological laboratory for the distribution of innovative regenerative medicine solutions through partnership with an Australian-based
medical research company.
Besides running her business, Dato’ Dr. Jessie is also an active participant in non-business-related activities. She is amongst others the Deputy CEO and Board Member of the Women’s Institute of Management (WIM) Malaysia, a Non-Profit organization headquartered in Kuala Lumpur that holds a longstanding reputation as one of the most prominent self-sustaining Women’s NGO in Malaysia.
To date, WIM has established over 684 programs that directly and indirectly benefitted over 30,000
marginalised women in Malaysia.
Dato’ Dr. Jessie is also a Council Member of the Malaysian Estate Owners’ Association (MEOA), an association of mainly plantation companies, with an aggregate area of over 1.2 million hectares of estates spanning the Peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak.

between the public, private and civil sectors across Asia.

Most notably, she was a Speaker at the CEO Roundtable of the 14th ASEAN Leadership Forum, the Women Entrepreneurs Roundtable of the 8th World Chinese Economic Summit, and the recent Rome Roundtable 2018 on Co-Operative Globalisation.
On a personal basis, Dato’ Dr. Jessie has organized and hosted women empowerment forums and workshops in Sabah featuring international speakers and leaders. She has also sponsored at her own capacity various charity events, functions and campaigns for senior citizens, disadvantaged women, women education and empowerment, terminally ill children, as well as workshops and programs for the rural communities.
Besides being a sharp shooter, Dato’ Dr. Jessie is also a Karate black-belt holder and serves as chairman and patron for Kobe Osaka International Karate Association (since 2012). In addition, she is also actively involved in the group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and projects, particularly in empowering and improving the standard of living of women and the rural poor community.
