In 1890, Mohamed Anverally’s great-grand-father had a vision to capture the true, unique blend of Ceylon Tea to the world. His aspiration has been held true and is the core philosophy of Anverally and Sons (Pvt) Ltd today. The organization caters to all tea requirements worldwide. Their tea selection ranges from black, green, herbal, iced, health and fruit teas in packing options of bulk, tea bags, packets, metal caddies, bottles, pouches gift and more – they offer it all. Being one of the largest tea exporters in Sri Lanka with a turnover of USD 100 million is no easy feat. Born in Colombo Sri Lanka, Mohamed Anverally’s education was in England. He completed his B.Sc in Computer Science passing out with Honors at the University of Kent and he returned to his home country to join his father’s tea business. The fourth generation from a family of tea exporters, it was under Mohamed Anverally’s leadership that the organization became one of the largest tea exporters in Sri Lanka. Today Anverally and Sons (Pvt) Ltd has a team of over 500 staff and is growing steadily. The team operates from 250,000 sq ft state of the art facilities, featuring a modern warehouse, storage facility and corporate office space amongst others. The company exports over 18 million kilos of tea annually to over eighty countries worldwide.
Mohamed’s strategy involves long term perspective to build a sustainable brand. He is driven by identifying opportunities, creating value and constant innovation – the key to the success of his world-renowned tea brands. Fueled by a passion to bring the true taste of Ceylon tea to the world, he has the unique ability to rally people around his vision. He encourages idea sharing from his team at all levels and empowers them to be the best they can be. He is committed to ensuring the highest quality teas in every one of their distinctive tea blends. The team blends with purpose using techniques and modern breakthroughs to ensure every tea enthusiast enjoys the most satisfying tea experience in every single cup.
