Information about the Entrepreneur
In 1997, three youths with similar jobs and backgrounds decided to start their own company. Despite the lack of capital, equipment, and factories, they jointly established a mold-based manufacturing company. The company’s name, “Hu Lane”, comes from the surnames of the three founders, and the youngest, Chang, Tzu- Hsiung, currently serves as the Chairman. Hu Lane initially started manufacturing video games, electric toys, and audio-visual equipment field products but later transitioned to the automobile and motorcycle connector industry. Under the leadership of Chairman Chang, the company was publicly listed in Gre Tai Securities Market (GTSM) in 2003 and is the largest company in Taiwan’s automotive and locomotive connector industry.

Hu Lane entered the China market in 1995 and successively set up production bases in Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Dongguan. In 2008, Hu Lane passed the laboratory certification (GP-10) of Shanghai General Motors for the Nanjing plant. The Nanjing plant also passed the national-level experiment in 2009. The company has been deeply involved in Mainland China for more than 20 years. Currently, the main domestic automakers and joint ventures are Hu Lane’s customers. The company also set up a factory in Vietnam in 2011 and one in Indonesia in 2017 to seize local locomotive business opportunities in the South East Asia region.

In order to expand the business outside of Asia, Hu Lane set up the Italian Representative Office in 2021 to serve European customers. Despite experiencing the 2008 subprime mortgage financial crisis, the 2018 Sino-US trade war, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Hu Lane’s operations remain unaffected during these difficult periods. While the pandemic caused a slight decrease in turnover in 2019-2020, the company’s performance grew rapidly to NTD4.949 billion after the pandemic slowed down in 2021. With years of extensive development techniques and trust built, Hu Lane has experience in collaborating with global benchmark customers to excel and provide the best service, and Hu Lane will continue to explore and develop new techniques to build and start new trends in the future.

Vision, Mission, & Future Plans
Automobiles are developing towards “intelligent networking, electric vehicles, self-driving cars, and shared cars”. Hu Lane has also successively developed a number of new products High-speed digital signal transmission HSD used in automotive electronic equipment, digital entertainment equipment, USB and various communication protocols (LVDS) used in satellite navigation, mobile phone signals, radio equipment, and integrated audio and video RF signal transmission High-frequency connector— FAKRA, etc., for new energy vehicles, which have started to roll out certifications on the clients’ side.

Hu Lane has been a market follower in the early days of the business and is currently a provider of automotive connector solutions. Hu Lane expects to become an innovative leader in the connector industry in the future.
