When talking about live-streaming, it is imperative to also mention Louis (Yi-Chih) Lu, the CEO and Founder of Bravo Ideas Digital Co., Ltd (Bravo Ideas). The media coined Louis as the “Father of live eCommerce”, and Louis’ most noticeable achievement is his patented technology which can be used by all live-streaming eCommerce platforms in China including Taobao live-streaming from Alibaba Group.

The creation of live-streaming has driven the successful business models of MCN. In 2007, Louis created the first video-sharing platform in Taiwan called “ishowlife”. ishowlife functioned as a social media at the beginning where everyone could share their videos with the public on the platform. When eCommerce became increasingly popular in Taiwan, many retail stores took notice of the opportunity for online sales. They reached out to Louis and hoped to use the ishowlife platform as an additional sales channel.

Not limited to interactive audio-visual and live broadcasting technology, Louis has also partnered with China’s King of lipstick, Jiaqi Li, where he supplied and accompanied Li with live broadcasting training. A sales record was set with a sale of fifteen thousand lipsticks within five minutes, attracting manufacturers to join Bravo Ideas’ live broadcasting training courses.

Currently, Bravo Ideas has over seven hundred influencers/ KOL, and there is an expectation to increase the number to a thousand. In 2018, ishowlife has officially transformed into a live eCommerce platform. After a year of establishment, Louis led the team to a revenue breakthrough of over NTD3.8 million. When COVID-19 broke out in 2020, Bravo Ideas reached a revenue of over a billion, followed by NTD2.25 billion in 2021, and close to NTD4 billion in 2022.

Louis’ live-streaming eCommerce technology is recognized by over thirty multinational invention patents, encompassing regions such as the United States, European Union, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Singapore, South Korea, and more. He has also been the recipient of many awards and has led Bravo Ideas to be titled the champion of the “ideas show+”. Additionally, Louis has long coveted to finally receive the “most investment potential” award from the Institute for Information Industry Taiwan in 2013. Louis was also invited to participate in 2014’s Singapore TechVenture exhibition event and won the TOP 100 MVP managers in 2016.

In addition to 2022’s revenue of up to 4 billion New Taiwan Dollars, under Louis’ leadership, Bravo Ideas is expanding to the southeast Asian market and planning to set up subsidiaries here. His company and App Chain, a company related to Japanese music entertainment company Avex, have jointly established “Bravo Ideas (Japan)” Co., Ltd.” The Japanese version of its platform “ishowlife” will be released at the end of the first quarter of 2022. Furthermore, Bravo Ideas is also preparing to stake a claim in the American market. In March, Bravo Ideas collaborated with OG Ron C, a famous American DJ to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ChopStars. Together, they launched a live-streaming fundraising campaign through ishowlife at SXSW (South by Southwest) conference and festivals in Austin, Texas. The money raised went to support Impacting Houston, Inc., an afterschool program that has changed countless young lives. Louis stated that part of what he does is provide innovative technology to enable people to share love and show life. There is no better way than to support the mission of Impacting Houston Inc.
