AIRPORTS CORPORATION OF VIETNAM

Information about the Company
Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is a joint stock company operating in a form of parent-subsidiaries enterprise with 95.4% state owned shares and responsible for the business of 22 airports across Vietnam. During its 46-year development, the company constantly strives to fulfil a leading role in airport infrastructure investment, operation, and management.

Although ACV suffered significant revenue losses during the summer peak period due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has decisively implemented many proactive solutions in the process of serving passengers, worked closely with competent authorities to do well in pandemic prevention and control at its airports.

ACV aims to achieve excellence in its operations by instilling the four core values of Safety and Professionalism; Cohesion and Consistency; Transparency and Integrity; Inheritability and Belief, which has enabled the enterprise to serve as a host of all-sky gates to Vietnam, keeping the spirits of peace, civilisation, friendliness and dynamism, and contributing to Vietnam’s globalisation and regional integration.

Company Culture & Company Activities
As building a positive workplace culture has been one of ACV’s top priorities, the enterprise has started recruiting and selecting applicants who will share ACV’s beliefs and thrive in its culture. In addition, ACV is developing orientation and training and performance management programmes to help reinforce the company’s core values and ensure that employees who truly embody these values receive well-deserved rewards and recognition.

Since the start of the pandemic, ACV's focus has been to build a culture of safety, engagement, inspiration, and productivity for over 9,700 employees. The company rolls out COVID-19 vaccinations, equips its employees with personal protective equipment, and conducts health and safety protocols at its airports.

Furthermore, ACV has been coordinating traditional charitable giving over the years by organising essential activities for the community across the country. This year's activities include supporting the poor and underprivileged people affected by COVID-19; donating VND 3 billion to the Central Relief Committee of Vietnam to support those affected by storms and floods; contributing VND 200 billion to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, etc.

Achievements & Impact
ACV is responsible for the business of 22 airports across Vietnam, including 9 international airports and 13 domestic airports. It entered the UPCom stock exchange and officially became a public company in 2016. In 2018, the management of ACV was transferred to the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC).

With the increasing number of passengers in ACV’s airports in recent years, the company has implemented many airport constructions and expansions to enhance operational frequency and improve the passengers’ experience.

Among these constructions include Long Thanh international airport, which is a nationally significant project that has important implications for the country's socio-economic development, national defence, and security. The airport is predicted to handle a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo annually after its completion.

The passenger terminal T3 construction project at Tan Son Nhat international airport is another one of ACV’s significant projects. The passenger terminal T3 with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year and synchronous auxiliary works is expected to meet the traffic growth, reduce the currently overloaded capacity of Terminal 1, and improve the passenger experience.

Besides that, ACV has also carried out other projects such as the Noi Bai international airport passenger terminal T2 expansion project; the construction project of passenger terminal T2 at Phu Bai international airport; the Dien Bien airport expansion project, and so on. Regarding the company’s strategy to achieve sustainable growth, qualified human resource is a valuable asset and one of the most significant factors in ACV’s long-term sustainable development strategy.

Future Direction
Although the company has experienced a sharp decline in its revenue in 2020 due to the mobility restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, ACV is confident in making a full recovery and has deployed numerous solutions to prepare for travel resumption. Specifically, ACV organised a meeting with the leaders of airlines and ground handling companies to develop the “Green Corridor” programme, which has three primary dimensions including Green People, Green Infrastructure, and Green Procedure. This move is a crucial step for the aviation stakeholders to propose to the government to resume domestic and international route access. ACV has also coordinated with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Information Communications to establish a database for vaccinated air passengers, supporting the application of vaccine passports in the upcoming months.

In conclusion, while the pandemic may have greatly impacted the aviation industry over the past two years, ACV is confident that a positive vision of recovery and development will soon yield rewarding outcomes with potential market growth, leading the company to be "Ready for Take-off" once again.
